Production of knitting wool at Coldharbour Mill can be followed on the self directed tour of the main spinning and weaving floor (Ground Floor). This is a unique journey through the different stages of making a yarn to a finished woven cloth. Visitors are able to see the original spinning and weaving machinery, some powered by the fully restored water wheel.
Visitors may then go upstairs to where machines from earlier eras are on display, together with the 'Puttee Story' which demonstrates one of the iconic products of the Fox business.
The Fox Gallery is on the Second Floor. The permanent exhibitions include the World War II 'Home Front'; the Millennium Screen - a stunning work of craftsmanship celebrating the Culm Valley Parishes and a model of the Culm Valley Light Railway which linked the valley's villages for almost 100 years.
The Fox Gallery hosts temporary exhibitions through the summer - see the Events page for more details.
