Culm Valley Millenium Screen

We are most grateful to the Textile Society for supporting the Curatorial Volunteer Team with their project to reinstate the Culm Valley Millennium Screen in the Museum 25 years after it was first displayed.

The Screen was a.major community project to mark the year 2000, and celebrate the life, history and geography of five villages along the course of the River Culm – Clayhidon, Hemyock, Culmstock, Uffculme and Willand.  This marvelous textile mural was the product of the creative efforts of over 100 people in the 5 villages. It can be viewed at the Mill until Saturday 16th May, after which it will be returned to storage until next year.
