Devon at War: WWII Exhibition & Talk

Presented by the Uffculme Local History Group & the Friends of Coldharbour Mill
Wednesday 1st May. Arrivals from 7pm, with talk commencing at 7.30pm. Event finishing at 9.30pm approx.

This fascinating talk will highlight a snapshot from the history of Grantlands, one of Uffculme’s most imposing houses. Between November 1943 and May 1944, a specialised unit of the U.S. Army was based there. They left for France to join the D-Day invasion force. This is their story.

This event is currently only bookable by Members of Coldharbour Mill, the Uffculme Local History Group and Friends of Coldharbour Mill.
If tickets are still availble, General Admission will open on Monday 1st April

Vintage Military Vehicle Display & Re-enactment Weekend

Uffculme to Omaha Beach

A weekend to commemorate Uffculme’s direct connection to D Day in the Second World War, marking the role of the U.S. 17th Field Artillery Observation Battalion. This unusual unit was billeted in Uffculme from October 1943 having crossed in convoy from New York to Gourack on the shores of the upper Firth of Clyde.
This is a weekend full of Military vehicles on display, army re-enactments and exhibits themed around Uffculme and Coldharbour Mill’s connections to the war.
