Our new Waterside cafe is the perfect place to relax – either as part of your visit to the Mill or just to meet friends. Admission to the Mill is not required.
Located by the Mill stream it is open on the days the Mill is open for breakfast, morning coffee, delicious cakes, light lunches and afternoon teas. Why not try it out for yourself!
Monday to Friday: 8.30am-4pm
Saturday and Sunday: 10am-4pm
Become a Friend and support the Mill
This Association of Mill enthusiasts exists to support the Mill in any way it can, by arranging craft and fund-raising activities putting relevant skills to good use on the mill site, organising and attending craft and leisure events at the mill and elsewhere, meeting for social interaction, discussion, and information exchange raising funds for projects at the Mill, payment of an annual subscription.
The Friends welcome all Mill visitors, supporters, and members of the local community. Membership is unrestricted and simply requires payment of the appropriate annual subscription, as agreed at the AGM held each March.

Our Treasurer, Membership Secretary, or any committee member will be happy to supply the necessary forms – or just ask when you are visiting – we encourage GiftAid wherever that is possible, as we are an independent registered Charity, and can claim an additional sum at the basic income tax rate from donations by UK income – and Capital Gains – tax payers.
Award winning educational programmes for 5-16 year olds
Set just 5 minutes drive from the M5, Coldharbour Mill is a convenient, informative and unique destination for group visits.
We cater for a wide range of interests from steam and water power, industrial and military history, to weaving, spinning and wool craft. Visitors can discover the Mill at their own pace or we can arrange a tailored tour with one of our trained tour guides. We also welcome coaches to our waterside cafe which offers a delicious selection of hot and cold snacks, traditional Devon cream teas and delicious home-made cake.
The Mill is open 10am – 4pm daily for pre-booked tours throughout the year and group organisers are welcome to make a free preliminary visit to discuss your individual needs.
A visit takes approximately 3 hours.
