Millennium Screen Exhibition

Thursday 1st - Saturday 16th May

We’re thrilled to have the Culm Valley Millennium Screen on exhibition.

This awe-inspiring 12.5-metre community textile masterpiece, created by more than 100 talented local residents for the year 2000, is once again taking pride of place in the Mill Museum. It’s a true celebration of local history, creativity, and community spirit.

The Screen will be on display until Saturday 16th May, after which it will go back in storage while we work to provide a permanent location sometime in the future, so do make sure you come and see it soon!

The project to display the Screen was funded by Museum Development South West and The Textile Society, to whom we are extremely grateful.

This exhibition is in the main Mill building on Level 4 and is available to see with any Mill entry ticket.

Artist Exhibition - Nicky Farrell

Tuesday 31st March - Saturday 11th April

”I have recently retired from my work within criminal justice and am so lucky to now have the time to focus on my passion for creating art inspired by two main interests – nature, specifically birds and animals and my love of Japan.

I have been doing stained glass for approximately 20 years and I love to create glass paintings. Since retiring I have started to run workshops from home.

Always seeking to learn and expand new skills, I have turned my hands to stone and wood carving, willow weaving and more recently starting to develop skills in gold leaf work and mosaics. During my visits to Japan I have undertaken various craft workshops including bamboo carving, lacquer work, origami, mizuhiki, temari and fan painting – now using some of these skills in my regular work including earrings and bamboo lamps”.

This exhibition is in the main Mill building on Level 4 and is available to see with any Mill entry ticket.
